FEATURING COMPANY AUDITIONS, OUR FIRST COMPANY ACTIVITY, FREE CLASSES AND AN OPEN HOUSE, OUR KICK-OFF FOR DANCE SEASON 2025-26 IS SURE TO BE EPIC!!

BLUEBIRDS BALLET DAY includes events not just for our Bluebirds Ballet Company members, but for OUR ENTIRE STUDIO--including registered students, their friends, parents, and guests, and our community! We hope that you can join us for a fun-filled day of dance, perfect to kick-off our dance season!

OPEN HOUSE: 

9 am to 2 pm! Come over and check out what makes Bluebirds Ballet Academy special! Come meet our faculty and dancers, register for Dance Season 2025-26, and see us in action doing what we do best! 

FREE CLASSES: 

We have several free classes on Saturday! Come by and check us out!

Adult/Teen Ballet: 9-10:15 am (Studio A)
Parent/Tot Dance for Ages 1 and Up: 9:30-10:15 am (Studio B)
Adult/Teen Tap: 10:30-11:15 am (Studio B)
Preschool/Primary (Ages 3 and up) Dance Party: 11:30-12:15 (Studio B)

AUDITIONS FOR BLUEBIRDS BALLET COMPANY: 

Dancers desiring participation in Bluebirds Ballet Company's 2025-26 Season need to audition, even if your dancer was a company member last season. There is no fee to audition and all dancers taking ballet classes at Bluebirds Ballet Academy are invited to participate. 

Apprentice Company (Dancers enrolled in Levels II, III & IV): 10:30-11:15 am
Junior Company (Dancers enrolled in Level V): 11:30 am-12:30 pm
Senior Company & Senior Soloists (Dancers enrolled in Level VI-VII): 12:45-2:15 pm

REQUIREMENTS FOR COMPANY AUDITIONS: 

*Report to Studio B AT LEAST 10 MINUTES PRIOR TO SCHEDULED AUDITION to register for audition and receive audition number. Dancers will bring bags etc. back to Studio A after registering and can leave auditions through Studio A (either front or back door).
*ATTIRE: We will be strictly enforcing the attire rule this year. Girls: Black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet slippers, hair in bun, no jewelry. Boys: Solid white dance/athletic shirt, black tights, black ballet slippers. 
*ALL DANCERS DESIRING PARTICIPATION IN BLUEBIRDS BALLET COMPANY'S 2025-26 SEASON NEED TO AUDITION, including dancers who will NOT be participating in our Winter Show. Our Winter Show this year will be classical ballet Nutcracker excerpts or a revisioned version of this holiday ballet classic and possibly contemporary ballet pieces (depending upon the number of dancers auditioning/participating). Our Spring Performance will highlight company members. Dancers may participate in company activities all year long (even if unable to perform in Winter Show) if they remain in active company status for the year. Rehearsals for our Winter Show will be based on staff/choreographer and studio availability as well as availability of our company members. 

FIRST BLUEBIRDS BALLET COMPANY ACTIVITY OF DANCE SEASON 2025-26: 

Viewing "Send on the Clowns" at the Acadiana Center for the Arts!! 

Nicole Curtis's playful, thought-provoking dance performance "Send on the Clowns" is Saturday, August 16th at 3 pm at the ACA and features Bluebirds Ballet faculty member Madison Graves as well as guest faculty Whitney Hebert, Gina Aswell, and of course, Nicole Curtis! If you take a look at social media, you might recognize their rehearsal space. The company took up residence in Bluebirds Ballet Academy most of spring and all summer long thanks to a donation of our studio space to these local dance artists. Tickets are $25 a piece. Dancers auditioning August 16th are invited to attend the performance as a group. We will leave Bluebirds Ballet Academy at 2:30 after our last audition to head towards the theater. Parents are invited to attend, and I will need some parent volunteers to help drive and chaperone. If your dancer (and you) will be participating in this event, please let me know by AUGUST 12TH so that I can make sure we have enough tickets for everyone. You can bring a check or cash payment to Bluebirds on August 16th, or Venmo the studio (please add $0.75/3% convenience fee) to purchase your ticket.
